They asked me to design something that translates the maritime theme and at the same time shows their love and dedication for what they are doing. I wanted produce this as crafted as possible instead of using a standard die cut. That is why I screen printed the logo together with Mother Drucker on their window and as well screen printed a huge 19th century illustration of a sea rose inside the bar. The books content is dealing with the city of Koblenz. The city is a tourist magnet due to its age. Being the designated photographer of Koblenz for the year 2011, he was asked to portrait the city from an unique angle only he could see. Leopold Fiala did not shoot the well known places but instead bringing the focus to corners you would pass without even noticing. His sensitive and graphically strong eye for those places make his images as beautiful as they are.
